Ruby's Birthday

Ruby had a beautiful birth day! She was born at 1:42 p.m. on Friday, January 27th. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. She is absolutely perfect!!!

We arrived at the hospital at 5:45 a.m. to be induced. They started pitocin at 7:30, and my contractions were pretty strong by 8:30. I got my epidural at 9:00! From 9-1:30, we just hung out in my room. It was a party in there!

At 1:30 my nurse asked me to try pushing. After 1 push she said STOP! WAIT! They hurried to get everything set up, Dr. Galvan came in, and Ruby safely arrived after 2 more pushes.

We love her so much!!! She looks a lot like her daddy and Ben!

Ruby's Nursery

Several months ago, my MIL (Nana) gave me a burp cloth and bib with this Michael Miller fabric on it. I loved it and knew I wanted to use it as a starting point for the nursery. Tia Leah is a wonderful seamstress and offered to make the bedding. Nana found the fabric I loved and bought several different coordinating fabrics as well. She and Leah make a great team! They did such a fantastic job making the nursery beautiful! Let me give you a tour...
the bedding
(the crib sheet is a map of Paris)
the crib skirt is 3 different fabrics/layers
My mom had my glider reupholstered in a cream fabric (it had a denim fabric on it before). Nana bought the blanket on the glider from an Etsy seller. Leah made the pillow on the chair as well as the tablecloth. The white curtains are from Target. I found the cute picture frame and Eiffel Tower lamp at Hobby Lobby.
View from the door. I found the birdcage magnet board on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

We made the wall letters to hang above her crib. (The boys have these in their room.)
Leah made a coordinating changing pad cover and some cute onesies and headband to match the room!

Thank you Nana & Tia Leah for all your hard work! Also, thanks to Ryan for painting, replacing the light fixture, hanging curtains and wall decor, etc.! Ruby's room is complete...now all we need is for her to come see it! :-)

January Fun

We have had such beautiful weather here this month. It's been great for this very pregnant mama...the boys play so hard outside and then take wonderful naps!

Jackson loves riding his balance bike. His knees and elbows look pretty beat up, but he's getting the hang of it!
Ben loves to ride on his bumper car...
and jump! Sweet hair!
We met Pops & GranMartha at the mall for breakfast last weekend. Pops always brings quarters for the boys!

potato head fun
The boys love it when we have breakfast for dinner. They can make some great pancakes!
Lindsey & Ava came by the other day, and Ava helped Ben make some brownies! Such precious friends!!

Both the boys had coupons for 20 free tokens (for their half bday) from Chuck E Cheese, so we spent a random Thursday morning there. 40 tokens lasted a couple hours, and we were literally the only people there! So fun!
Jackson & his dad love to work puzzles together. They did this 100 piece puzzle in no time!
Ben rode his bumper car all the way to the playground.

We haven't been up to much this month- just playing and enjoying our last weeks as a family of 4!
