Where's Waldo?

Jackson is currently obsessed with Where's Waldo books and iPad games. So, we had a Where's Waldo birthday party! It was "made with love" but actually turned out pretty cute!

The table was covered in striped wrapping paper. I printed out a bunch of Waldo images from the internet to use as decorations and cupcake toppers. Waldo is waving hello inside the chip bucket!
See the Waldo glasses?  Ryan made them out of pipe cleaners!
We had (striped) pb&j sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, chips, pigs in a blanket, marshmallow pops, & cupcakes!
The sandwiches were wrapped with fruit roll-ups.
Red and white cupcakes for Waldo. Black and yellow for Odlaw.
We covered the doors in wrapping paper and hung streamers in the middle.
yummy treats!

party favors! Each kid got a Waldo notebook with their name on it and some markers.
the birthday boy!
We rented an inflatable water slide for the kiddos...so fun!

Ruby loved the party!

A big thank you to GranMartha for making the "grown up food"! She made homemade chicken salad sandwiches and blueberry muffins...way better than a peanut butter sandwich!
presents!

We had so much fun celebrating Jackson's 5th birthday!!!

FIVE

On July 10, 2012 my precious Jackson Elliott turned FIVE!
Doesn't he look all grown up? He is such a big kid now! I now understand the saying "the days are long, but the years are short." I really can not believe he is 5! Jackson brings us so much joy. He has lots of energy and is all boy. He loves to play outside, play ball, climb trees, ride bikes, have sword fights, play the wii, swim, hang out with his family/extended family, read books....the list could go on and on. He loves to chat and never runs out of things to say. He is intense about everything. He has a precious heart and loves God. He asks lots and lots of questions. I just love the stage he's in!

His birthday was FUN.

Kaki and James brought donuts with sprinkles (jackson's fave) over for bday breakfast.
James stayed and played while Kaki went to the doctor. (see my little niece/nephew?)
rainy day playtime
GranMartha brought ChickfilA for a bday lunch! We stuck a candle in a cookie and sang happy birthday.
That evening we went to chuck e cheese's (per jackson's request) for dinner. (He's telling me he's 5.)

We brought some Maureen's petit fours and a candle so we could sing happy birthday and eat bday cake.
Loved celebrating Jackson all day long with some of his favorite people! Can't wait to PARTY on Saturday- Where's Waldo style!!!

4th of July

Weekend Pics

My mom made a feast (as usual) for our Sunday lunch. She tried out some new Pioneer Woman recipes, and they were delicious! We had this and this. Yum!

Ruby reached out for Pops to hold her a couple weeks ago. So far, he is the only one she has reached out for. Ruby loves her Pops!
We made brownies Sunday evening (b/c that's a perfectly acceptable dinner after a huge sun lunch!). Ben was such a big helper to clean the bowl for me!!!
Here was a little Skype session with Papa John & Nana!

Ruby: 5 Months

Our precious Ruby is 5 months old now. We just can't even imagine our lives without her! She is such a blessing to our little family. In the past month Ruby traveled to Tennessee twice, got 2 bottom teeth, and also started eating some solid foods! She has tried rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, and baby mum-mums. So far she is a great eater. I think our traveling/lack of routine has really messed up her sleeping. We haven't been getting much rest around here. My goal this month is to get on a good nap/sleep schedule. Ruby loves to smile and "talk". She always has a lot of entertainment and has gotten used to a lot of attention. If she realizes she is alone, she will let me know quickly and loudly she does NOT like that! She is growing up way too fast! We are so thankful for our Ruby Elizabeth!
