Happy Birthday GranMartha: You're So Fine at 49!!!
Yesterday we celebrated my mom's birthday! We all made her dinner- steaks, sweet potatoes, asparagus, rolls, and truffle pasta from Italy. What a feast!!! She has been missing her European pastries, so I made her apple strudel with warm vanilla sauce for dessert. We had a great time together! We gave her a super stylish red purse, and she LOVED it! I have the best mom ever!!!

Happy Birthday
Jackson is ONE!!! We had a great weekend celebrating his precious life. On Thursday (Jackson's actual bday) we had dinner with my family at my parents house. Friday Jackson's Nana, Papa John, Uncle Morgan, Great Mom, and Great Dad came in town. We were so glad they all came in town for the big p-a-r-t-y. Saturday was the bday party...too much fun! All the kiddos played in the backyard, we ate cupcakes, opened gifts, and enjoyed celebrating JACKSON! Of course, I do not have any pictures on my camera from the day. We had a friend volunteer to be the photographer for the day. Once I get the pictures from her and some others, I'll be sure to post them! (sorry for the delay) Here are some pictures from the weekend (besides the party)...

My Baby is Almost One!!!
How is it possible that my baby will be one year old on Thursday? It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was huge and swollen!!! How have I survived an entire year on basically no sleep? Then again, I can hardly remember what life was like before God gave us our precious Jackson. This has been the best year of my life...so full of joy and sweet memories. I am so thankful for our little guy, and I am excited for year number two!!!
Here's what our almost 1 year old is up to these days:
- getting into everything :-)
- crawling super fast
- pulling up on anything he can
- cruising along furniture
- standing alone for a few seconds (no steps yet)
- finally sleeping through the night on a more consistent basis
- eating table food (we pretty much skipped baby food)
- saying hi, bye, mama, daddy, dog, arf arf, duck, bottle, pops, & uh-oh
- having separation anxiety again (we went through this phase once before)
- I am feeling bittersweet about this one...he is almost completely weaned. Part of me feels very free that I don't have to plan my days around his nursing schedule, but I am already missing that special cuddle time with him.
We have a super fun birthday party planned for this weekend, so there will be pictures soon! I have been a horrible picture taker lately, so I'll leave you with the only ones I have from the past 2 weeks (sorry!).

Florida
My mom, Jackson, and I left for Florida last Thursday to go to a wedding. We finally made it to our hotel room about 2:00 Friday morning after hours of delays at the airport!!! I got tickled at how many people at the airport asked me if I was taking Jackson to Disney World...seriously people??? Friday we had a wonderful day in Orlando filled with swimming, Starbucks, manicures, pedicures, outlet mall shopping, eating, and being together after a forever long month of not seeing my mom! Saturday morning we met my cousin Carrie and her husband Eric for brunch. It was so good to see them! Then we got ready for the wedding and had a great night there! We flew back Sunday...of course we had another delay! Jackson crawled all through the Orlando airport. I'm sure people were thinking "what a bad mom", but he had energy to burn with a 2 and a half hour flight still ahead. We made it!!!

Kenna & Diogo had a lovely wedding...at least that's what I heard!
Jackson was being a bit vocal, so we hung out in the church nursery during the ceremony.
Sorry I don't have any wedding pics. I was trying to keep my baby entertained and quiet the whole time! Maybe I'll get some from my mom later.
