Healthy Baby
Yesterday we went to the doctor for Jackson's 2 week check-up. The doctor said he is a healthy baby and everything looks great!!! Last week Jackson was down to 7 pounds 4 ounces and this week he was 7 pounds 10 ounces. He is a good little eater (just like his mom)! I felt so sorry for him, because he had to have his heel pricked for the newborn screening test. I had never heard him scream like that before. It was so pitiful. He only cried for a few minutes though, and then he was fine. After such a rough appointment, my mom and I took Jackson shopping to make him feel better! :-) It totally worked. OK- maybe he just loves his stroller! I am so thankful that he is healthy and doing great! OH- last night he slept so well...for the first time! I sure hope this continues!!!

Jackson's Birth Story
Well I know we've posted quite a few pictures, but I thought I'd write a little bit about our sweet Jackson's arrival! My due date was Saturday, July 7. I was really hoping he would wait a litttle bit longer, because my family wasn't coming back from Europe until Monday. Jackson had perfect timing! My family made it back, we all went out for Mexican food, and then that night I started having contractions. They were getting strong and about 5 minutes apart about 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, so I thought he was almost here. We called Dr. Galvan and he told me to go to the hospital. So we are totally rushing because my contractions were pretty strong. We got all checked in to the hospital about 6 a.m. and the nurse told me I was at 1 and a half c.m.!!! I wanted to hit someone! We then were moved into the labor/delivery room. They started my IV and hooked up all the monitors. My family and Ryan's mom got there about 8:00, and we all just hung out in the room together. Well time passed, and the contractions were getting stronger. About 10:20 the nurse checked me and said I was now at 2 c.m.! Again, I wanted to hit someone. I really thought I was at like 8! So the day was going pretty slowly. About 1:00 I got some Stadol (pain medication) and it really helped. My family was distracting me by showing me all their Europe pictures! Well the Stadol wore off and I was begging for the Epidural. I finally got it about 6:00. It was AMAZING! In minutes I was completely pain free and feeling great! I would watch the monitor and see that I was having contractions, but I couldn't feel them! About four and a half hours later, I started pushing. I pushed through 4 contractions and sweet Jackson was here! It was the most incredible experience. Even though it was a long day, it was not bad at all. I was so surprised at how well everything went! So Jackson arrived at 11:04 on July 10 and weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces. Dr. Galvan did such a good job getting him here. I was also so thankful that Mrs. Galvan stayed with me all day and coached me through everything. I know that having them there is what made me feel so comfortable and peaceful about the whole situation. So we were at the hospital for 2 nights and came home Thursday night. Jackson has loved being home! He is doing so great. We are so blessed and thankful!
