Getting Back to Normal

WE'RE HOME!!! Our power came back on Tuesday night. Our cable and internet just came back on this morning. We sure enjoyed staying with my parents, but it is good to be home (where Jackson actually sleeps!!!). Maybe now that we're getting back to normal, I could actually update the blog today...we'll see!!!

We survived Ike! We're still staying at my parents b/c our house doesn't have power yet. The storm was so scary, but I'm thankful it didn't do too much damage. There are uprooted trees everywhere and some of our fence fell down. I don't think Jackson ever knew anything was going on!!! He slept through the hurricane and just thinks we are having a party over here! We'll keep you posted...

Fun with Nana & Papa John

Jackson had a wonderful week with his grandparents! They came to visit us last Wednesday. I always love it when Papa John comes to visit, because he does something handy around my house. He installed a new over the range microwave for us!!! (The one from 1982 died.) Anyways, we had a fun time here. On Saturday we all drove to Frisco to their house. They sent Ryan and me on a little getaway to the Gaylord Texan resort in Grapevine, and Jackson stayed with them. That was definitely a win-win situation...everyone was happy!!!

American Idol Tour 2008

Oh Wow! The concert was AMAZING!!! We had such a fun day yesterday. We went to the Hatch Chile Festival at Central Market and ate dinner there. Then we got our caffeine at Starbucks to help us stay awake (we're not a late night group). Next was the concert!!! My dad got us AWESOME seats (Thanks Dad!). We just had the best time!

David Archuleta- crowd was out of control for him! Such a cutie and a great singer. He giggled every time he talked. :-)

DAVID COOK- AMERICAN IDOL- He was a rock star!!!

We were all slightly obsessed with the show this year, so the concert was such a fun experience for us all!

p.s.- We left Jackson home with a babysitter for the first time ever. She told me everything went fine! She was so wonderful!!!

Tennessee Trip

Jackson, my mom, and I returned home last night from a fabulous week in TN. We really enjoyed visiting all the fam! Jackson is such a trooper on our trips. He was a great traveler and was quite charming!!!

We loved our week away, but we are happy to be home now! We are looking forward to an exciting week...American Idol Tour concert and Nana and Papa John are coming to visit!!!

A couple weekends ago we went to China Spring, TX to celebrate Ryan's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. It was so good to see everyone! We are so thankful to have such wonderful examples in our lives. Happy Anniversary Great Mom and Great Dad!!!
